How long have you been lashing? Where did you receive your certification/training?
I have been lashing for a total of 7 years! I graduated esthetic school in 2014 and completed my classic lash certification through my instructor at The Skin Institute. Later I completed my advanced certification through Borboleta Beauty!

What made you decide to be a lash artist?
When I first learned lash application, I knew then that I had somewhat of a natural talent. Not everyone has that right away and that’s okay! But it felt amazing to be decent at something that a lot of my peers struggled at. I can say I have continued lashing because of the opportunities it has given me- Freedom to make my schedule and be my own boss, be creative, meet amazing individuals and enhance their lives through the beauty industry, and earn an income I desired all at the same time! It’s been a huge blessing in my life!

What is your favorite thing about being a Lash Artist?
I love the immediate satisfaction of a completed full set/fill when my clients open their eyes. It’s so rewarding and fulfilling that they love my work as much as I do.

Have you taken any continuing education or advanced classes in lash artistry? If so, when and what?
I have taken numerous online courses this past year but my most favorite so far was my advanced volume in-person course with Borboleta in Salt Lake City, Utah about 2-3 years ago. It was a game changer for me!

How long have you been using Lash Tavern products?
About 3 years now I believe.. and have been since!

What is your favorite Lash Tavern product and why?
The volume boot tweezer is my #1 ride or die tweezer! It fits my hand perfectly, and has literally lasted longer then any tweezer I’ve tried!

What are your hobbies outside of lashing?
I love spending time outdoors off-roading, hiking, fishing, mountain biking, you name it. I was actually an Outdoor Recreation Guide while attending esthetic school! I have 2 yorkies..(my 1st & 2nd born children haha) I have a new love for indoor spin class and a passion for cooking!

What is the hardest lesson you have had to learn while lashing?
Practice and patience! I’m not the most patient person until I’ve realized I’ve spent 7 years continuing to master lashing and I’m still working on improvement with each set I do!

Do you have any advice for new lash artists?
Stick with it! It’s hard, I promise. But if it wasn’t, it probably wouldn’t be worth it. Also, In this industry, be each others cheerleaders! This lash community has such an uplifting powerhouse of brilliant entrepreneurs behind it, so utilize that! I’ve learned the most through fellow lash friends and class peers and continue to help others around me and way I can!
Is there anything you’d like to tell us about yourself that we haven’t asked about?
After lashing “part time” for 7 years, I can finally say I took a huge leap and quit my job as a surgical tech to pursue my dreams. I absolutely can’t wait to see where my future goes! Thank you Lash Tavern for highlighting individuals pursuing their dreams and crushing goals like me!

Thank you Kayli, for being our spotlight of the week. We are proud of the work and artistry you provide lash clients in Utah!
