How long have you been lashing? Where did you receive your certification/training?

I have been lashing for about a year and a half now. I trained in esthetics and lash extensions at the Academy of Professional Cosmetology in Rogers, Arkansas.

What made you decide to be a lash artist?

The before and afters! Definitely seeing the end result in comparison to natural lashes made me want to become a lash artist!

What is your favorite thing about being a Lash Artist?

Being able to make even the shortest, thinnest, straightest lashes look long, curled, and beautifully full!

Have you taken any continuing education or advanced classes in lash artistry? If so, when and what?

Not yet, but I am definitely planning to take a class on handmade volume fans!

How long have you been using Lash Tavern products?

I’ve used Lash Tavern products ever since I started practicing lashing, and I still love using their products today!

What is your favorite Lash Tavern product and why?

Their tweezers! All of Lash Tavern’s tweezers are perfectly made to pick up, isolate, or even make fans with! So many options and styles to choose from. There is so much to explore!

What are your hobbies outside of lashing?

Outside of lashing I love to do art and take photos! Whether it’s sketching, painting, printing polaroids, or anything in that nature, I love it all! Scrapbooking is another thing I love to do that combines all of my hobbies in one.

What is the hardest lesson you have had to learn while lashing?

Never give up. It’s definitely been a struggle here and there to keep practicing and push myself out of my comfort zone, but I learned to keep powering through! It’s definitely worth it, expanding and exploring your horizons will help you grow as an artist.

Do you have any advice for new lash artists?

Practice makes perfect! No matter what style of lash artistry you want to specialize in, practice until you get it right! It will definitely be hard, but the more you practice the more comfortable you get with yourself, your positioning, and your skills!

Is there anything you’d like to tell us about yourself that we haven’t asked about?

I became a salon owner at 18! I rent a salon suite and get to decorate to my taste, I am in charge of my own schedule and get to run my business how I want! #SupportSmallBusinesses

Thank you Alyssa, for being our spotlight of the week. We are proud of the work and artistry you provide the lash clients of Bentonville, Arkansas!
